Chinese Steel Structure Association Delegation Visits Malaysia and Singapore

From May 28 to June 3, 2024, Li Qingwei, Secretary General of China Steel Structure Association, led a delegation to Malaysia and Singapore for a working visit, and conducted in-depth exchanges on developing and consolidating friendly relations in the Southeast Asian steel structure industry and carrying out extensive cooperation, and reached a positive consensus.

The delegation held talks with Lei Shenglong, Secretary General of the Malaysian Steel Structure Association, Desmond Woon, a member of the association, and representatives of steel structure companies. Desmond Woon, on behalf of the Malaysian Steel Structure Association, warmly welcomed the delegation's visit and hoped to strengthen communication with the China Steel Structure Association in the future to improve the level of steel structure manufacturing technology and market competitiveness.

Secretary General Li Qingwei briefly introduced the international cooperation and exchange work of China's steel structure industry and the association. He said that the China Steel Structure Association pays great attention to the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets, and hopes that the two sides can strengthen cooperation in the future and jointly promote the development of the steel structure industry.

The delegation went to the Pelantar Insan (M) Sdn Bh steel structure processing plant and the shopping mall building, an annex to the Merdeka 118 Building in Malaysia (currently the second tallest building in the world), for inspection and research, and conducted in-depth exchanges with key management personnel

The delegation went to China Construction Steel Structure Malaysia Company for exchanges. Executive Director, Dato Sri Lee Pei Hua warmly welcomed the delegation. Deputy General Manager and Director Xiang Cheng introduced the company profile, Southeast Asian market and the situation of Chinese enterprises overseas. Chief Engineer Rao Jiayuan gave a detailed introduction to the KLCC project undertaken by China Construction Steel Structure Malaysia. The total construction area of ​​the project is 116,800 square meters, and the steel consumption is about 16,000 tons. The delegation members had a heated discussion on the in-depth design and construction management of the project.

The delegation also visited the Singapore Branch of China Jingye Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and met with representatives of the Singapore Steel Structure Association. General Manager Tan Zhiyong welcomed the visit of the association delegation and briefly introduced the company. Representatives of the Singapore Steel Structure Association, Dr Ng Yiaw Neong and Marc Sim, introduced the Singapore Steel Structure Association and the steel structure industry. Secretary-General of the Association Li Qingwei hopes that through this visit, the mutual exchanges between the steel structure industries of China and Singapore will be strengthened, a cooperation platform will be created for the steel structure enterprises of the two countries, and the development of the steel structure industry will be promoted.

The delegation visited the Keppel Distripark Singapore Port Authority storage and transportation warehouse, Hotel Mi project, Poiz Residences & Centre, Singapore Expo and other projects undertaken by China Jingye Singapore.

This visit not only deepened the friendship with the steel structure industry in Malaysia and Singapore, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges. Looking forward to the future, the China Steel Structure Association will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with international peers and promote my country's steel structure industry to a broader stage.
